Wet Feet and Optimist Professional Development Module
This course is a one day clinic is designed for instructors who want to teach sailing and water safety to young children ages 4 to 12. Three excellent manuals will be provided with course descriptions, lesson plans and sailor’s activity books. Instructors will go through the three courses, learn in depth the content, safety, rigging and important tricks on how to teach these unique age groups in a professional and effective manner. Upon completion of the course, the instructor can teach the CYA/BC Sailing Wet Feet, Optimist 1 and Optimist 2 courses and issue assessment reports to the sailors.
Prerequisites:
- CCG Pleasure Craft Operators Card
- First Aid (Minimum Emergency Level)
- Swimming Award (Boat Rescue, Bronze Cross, Bronze Medallion, NLS OR Sea Cadets Small Craft Rescue Award
- CYA Fundamental Course
